Gerrie Boshoff skipper of Wizard sailing round the world in the ARC rally was reported by Leon ZS6RF to be in the Galapagos islands , 600nm west of Equador the winlink system also confirms this.
Kim Chow has now been a 107 days at sea on his attempt to sail around the world, from west to east he has had a mixed bag of weather from becalmed to 30 to 40 knot winds and did 400nm miles in the last week, a look at his log last week wind south westerly 30 to 40knots temp 16 degrees c and 5 meter seas cold and wet with driving rain. Position 42s-02e, distance to Cape Horn 2970nm
Sailing vessel Jacana had good runs out towards the west on her way to Fremantle and did 500nm this last week she is 2250nm west of Cape Town with 2300nm to go. The International fleet of cruising boats are still leaving in small flotilla's back home via Saint Helena.
On the Indian Ocean scene not a lot of radio talk has been heard this last week due to the pending cyclone activity in that area.
